Luis Palau in Sacramento, Capitol and City

Frank Erb, who functions as a chaplain/pastor at the Capitol (Capitol Commission), welcomed international evangelist Dr. Luis Palau to the California State Capitol last month. Luis, who is 78 years old, has proclaimed the good news of Jesus to an estimated 30 million people in 75 countries, and through his organization has addressed over a billion people! He has authored nearly 50 books, and his Bible-based radio broadcasts are heard by millions of people in 48 countries on 3,500 radio outlets in both Spanish and English. Though he is an American citizen, he was born in Argentina and has a widespread following in South and Central America, earning him the nickname “the Billy Graham of Latin America.” Luis came to Sacramento to speak at one of his huge weekend evangelistic Festivals. When Frank heard he was coming to town he contacted him, with the help of a local pastor who is a mutual friend and invited him to visit the California State Capitol. He graciously accepted our invitation and spent two days with the group at the Capitol. On Wednesday, Luis addressed and prayed for legislators and staff in a hearing room. His message was about the importance of praying for government leaders. Joe and several pastors in the room also prayed for Luis by welcoming him to the City and Region of Sacramento, praying for God's blessing of power with the Gospel to rest upon Luis for the Festival.  God did bless the people with over 3500 people of the over 75,000 who attended, made a serious decision to fellow Jesus Christ.  Praise God for what He has started and continues . . .

Luis Palau and our family have been friends in ministry for forty-two years.  And it was a joy recently to welcome him to Sacramento and pray for him at the California State Capitol.  Please pray for Luis and for much glory for the Lord Jesus Christ and fruit for the Kingdom of God.  June 2012.
